Air Fryer
What should I do before using my air fryer for the first time?
Remove all temporary stickers and packaging. Wash the basket and crisper plate(s) thoroughly using a dishwasher or a non-abrasive sponge. It is highly recommended to perform a Test Run (heating the empty unit for about 10 minutes) to eliminate any manufacturing residue or smells.
Where should I place my air fryer?
Position it on a stable, level, and heat-resistant surface. Keep it away from areas that can be damaged by steam, such as walls or cupboards. Always leave at least 13 cm / 5 inches of space behind and above the unit for proper ventilation.
Do I need to preheat my air fryer?
Yes, preheating is recommended for most models to ensure even cooking and better texture. Most COSORI units have a dedicated PREHEAT button that defaults to 3–5 minutes depending on the selected temperature.
What does the "SHAKE" reminder mean?
The Shake Reminder is an alert (usually 5 beeps) that occurs halfway through the cooking time. Shaking or flipping food like fries or nuggets ensures they become crispy and cook evenly.
Can I use oil or cooking sprays?
Air fryers use hot air rather than a vat of oil. While you should never fill the basket with oil , adding a small amount (no more than 30 mL / 2 tbsp) directly to the food can increase crispiness. Avoid sprays with propellants, as they can damage the nonstick coating.
Are the accessories dishwasher-safe?
Yes, the air fryer basket and crisper plate(s) are generally dishwasher-safe. If hand-washing, use hot, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge to protect the nonstick coating.
What should I do if the unit is producing smoke?
White smoke: Usually caused by grease buildup or cooking high-fat foods; this is normal and can be addressed by cleaning the basket.
Dark smoke: This indicates food is burning or there is a circuit problem. Immediately unplug the unit and do not pull the basket out until the smoke has cleared.
What do error codes like "E1" or "E2" mean?
These codes typically indicate an issue with the internal temperature monitors (either an open or short circuit). You should stop using the unit and contact COSORI Customer Support.
Why is there a plastic smell when I cook?
A plastic smell is normal for new units during the first few uses due to the manufacturing process. Running a Test Run before the first actual meal usually eliminates this.
